Visit Skyline Drive Shenandoah National Park

Skyline Drive is a two-lane road that runs 105 miles through the entire length of Shenandoah National Park along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Depending on how much you stop to take in the views or take pictures, it takes about three hours to travel the entire length of the Park.

National park entrance fees apply when you enter the park. I used my annual national park pass to gain admittance.

We were camping in Luray, Virginia so we started at the north end of the drive. There are more than 75 pull-outs where you can really take in the beauty of Shenandoah National Park.

It was a magical, sunny fall day. The clouds were laying low in the valleys. The leaves were turning beautiful reds and golds.

The elevations along Skyline Drive are in the 3,000 to 4,000 foot range and the weather on this fall day was comfortably warm and sunny. Skyline drive is accessible to motorhomes and other RVs. There is camping inside the park as well.
